Speech by CEO of Coca Cola

Hi . . . .
"Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them - Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you're keeping all of these in the Air.
You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball.
If you drop it, it will bounce back.
But the other four Balls - Family, Health, Friends and Spirit - are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it.
"If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can't, you're right."

Speaking Tips/Talartips

The latest publication Speaking Tips #47 is now up. you can find all 47 issues here. Swedish version Talartips # 47 and all Swedish issues here.
The title is "A Self-critical Evaluation" which is my evaluation of my speech on YouTube.

Self Realization

I have been thinking (for a change). I have always wondered why so many people at some stage in life start doubting that they are they! This doubt seems to inspire them to start looking for their true selves in order to find out who they really are. But what do they expect to find? After all we are the results of a myriad of influences. There is no such thing as our genuine egos. The nearest we can possibly come is the very moment we were delivered into the world. The moment after we were already subject to influences. So what are they looking for? Has anybody ever found him/herself? No, of course not! In fact if there is a reason to think that there is a true self somewhere the presupposition is that the present is not ones true self. Concequently, if one finds ones true self somewhere that person will logically be somebody else. And if it is somebody else, then that is not you! So I wonder why people put time, feelings and effort in trying to find somebody else when we can find millions of other people around us without the slightest effort.

No chewing - back to normal!

This proves my point. No chewing gum, one week and back to 76,2 kg.

Chewing gum is a weight gainer!

I have been pinching mentol chewing gum from my daughter lately. I thought this would be a perfect way to always have a fresh breath without paying for it. She made it quite clear that she did not appreciate it in the way only a self confident teenager can. So I started to buy some. And then more. And after only a week I was adicted to chewing gum! Absolutely no problem, I thought, until I stepped on to the scale. For a year my weight has varied between 75 and 76. Judge of my surprise when I read 78,5. Three kilos up in one single week!

So what could be the reason other than the chewing gum? I beleive that the chewing has mislead my stomac to beleive that some food was on the way. Then, when my stomac realized that it had been taken for a ride it revolted and demanded nuitrition. That´s when my brain got the signal and made me walk to the refridgerator a lot more often than I normally do. So to all of you who are gum chewers and are upset that you are gaining weight, just stop chewing!

What´s wrong with people?

Every four years we have elections in Sweden. The present government has spent appr two of them to re-establish some credibility which was lost during the former social democratic government. This government has successfully focused on producing jobs and strengthen the state reserves for possible worse times to come. That time has now come. The leftish parties now shout their guts out prompting the government to spend it with the speed of light. They insist on spending funds which would not even have been available if they had been in charge. Why? Well, it would already have been spent into a state deficit BEFORE the downturn in the economy. This downturn is however not a normal downturn, it is a global free fall, the strength of which is not even in our history books. The history is being written right now for the coming generations to hopefully learn from in business schools. So what do the left parties expect? Do they expect the Swedish economy to florish while the rest of the world goes bust? Let´s be grateful that we have a responsible government who has planned in advance and not given in to the demands from spoilt children. The reserves should be spent, but spent with care and good judgement. Children do not and should not always get what they want!

This first posting is a dedication to a very special woman whose name is Arlene. She has written thousands of poems. It's a shame that she keeps them to herself, although I have been blessed with some of them. Every little daily happening, which we, normal people, would not even notice, she turns into a wonderful harmonious and melodic poem. I don´t understand them all but then, I am not supposed to. A true poet does not write for other people. A true poet writes whatever pops up in the mind. It is like people who have a mysterious handwriting which can only be read by themselves.

She is also a great pianist. Music and poetry goes hand in hand, a perfect combination. I envy people who play an instrument. It's an extra dimension in life. Add the ability to write poetry and there will always be comfort to any problem or sadness . Why do I write this? Well, I write this because I have only met this woman and her piano playing great husband twice and feel that I have known them for ever. Arlene also happened to be the first person to react to my information that I would start this blog. Thanks Arlene!
